**Current Project**

Good Hope School, Uganda: This project is simply amazing. I picked up two special guest riders in Uganda named Innocent and Warren. Innocent shared a dream with me to start a school to help AIDS orphans and needy to receive education in his community. I vowed to help him launch the school and for almost 2 years I coached him through various steps to prove his commitment and launch the school WITHOUT the help of Western civilization. He managed to get land donated, build buildings, find teachers and now has over 100 students at his school! He now needs an additional $70,000 or so to finish the build out. This is grassroots aid at it's very best--no administration costs, no nonsense. Check out this link for a full presentation and contact Jamie or Innocent for more information or to schedule a visit to Uganda to see the school. Thanks for your support!

Previous and Ongoing Projects:

1) Malaria Medication Disbursement : This is a was an amazing project where we partnered with Novartis and The Global Fund to raise funds and awareness to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. With support of Novartis, Jamie pedaled thousands of treatments of the Malaria treatment Coartem from 2006 to 2008 to small villages in Africa to cure children and adults from Malaria along his route. We saved hundreds of lives along the way and put huge smiles on the faces of community members all over Africa, especially those with infants and elderly suffering from malaria. We always invite people to investigate the Global Fund and the many initiatives world wide such as Product Red that support the vision to alleviate unnecessary suffering in Africa.

2) Pedal Proud Campaign: This is an ongoing project started by our first Part Time Peace Pedaler Vanessa Lurie. In this campaign already raised enough money to donate 100 bikes to South Africans to help assist in alleviating poverty and increasing health and happiness. Bicycles are an excellent alternative to bus, taxi and walking, which many Africans currently use as their method of transport. Bicycles allow them to save money and time to contribute more to their household needs and alleviate poverty.

3) Free Professional Recordings for Musicians: As I travel and meet musicians I record them and give them free CD's they can use to earn income and move their career forward. Many musicians are living gig to gig and can't afford to go into a studio. The Panasonic-Sanken mobile studio is just the ticket and boy are they grateful!

4) Peace Pedalers Scholarship Fund : We are sending one guest rider Joseph to school in Kenya and as we meet other riders who want to go to school but are lacking funds we hope to send many more. Students have to have excellent reports to receive further funding and school fees are paid term by term.

5) School Supply Delivery: Many children around the world do not have pencils, pens or notepads. They have a huge desire to learn, but need tools to do so. We have delivered hundreds of packages of school supplies to orphans and children in need along our journey and will continue to do this as funds permit.

6 ) Orphanage Visits: We have visited dozens of orphanages to put smiles on the faces of children and let them know they are loved and respected. We give presentations and show photos and videos to inspire them to dream big and believe in themselves. We often bring gifts of toys, school supplies, and always give out stickers and bracelets as a reminder that people do care.

7 ) Grass Roots Aid: As Jamie pedals north toward Morocco, he will no doubt run into people who need aid immediately and directly. Whether a child in need of medical attention, a community in need of a new water pump, or a hospital in need of supplies--we hope to have the Relief Fund stocked up enough to be able to deliver this much needed Grass Roots Aid and allow your donation to go directly to work instead of being eaten up by 50% overhead typical of many NGO.

8) Photos for Peace: To remind all the riders of the positive feelings and experiences on the bike I'm carrying a portable photo printer, ink and paper with me as I travel. I give these gifts to the riders, family's and individuals who help the project, and to anyone who touches the project in some way to keep the vibe alive. Check a pic here.

9) Good Hope School: This is grassroots at its best! Two Peace Pedalers riders in Uganda were so inspired by our time together that they acted on a dream to serve their community! I coached Innocent and Warren for almost two years to build the foundations of a school for AIDS orphans and the needy and they were able to find land, buildings, teachers and supplies from the local community without any initial funding. We are now helping them raise funds to finish the school. Get involved today! Check presentation and email us to help out.
