Our Mission:

To do our part to create more peace in our world through cultural education, exchange & random acts of kindness.

What We Do:

Peace Pedalers is a "Worldwide Invitation to Ride". That means YOU are invited! We are taking two-seat tandem bikes on an around-the-world adventure through about 86 countries. But we're doing it a bit differently--We ride on the front seats and leave the rear seats open to invite people we meet along the way to join the ride. We have extra riding clothes, helmets and camping equipment ready to share with strangers that soon become friends once they make a few pedal strokes on the tandem! And what an amazing journey it's been so far!

We invite total strangers and new friends to share a slice of life and experience the bonding magic of cycling with us as a gesture of peace, trust, acceptance, openness and unconditional love. If they need some financial assistance we usually offer to pay their food, accommodation and bus ticket back to their home town for extended tandem adventures. Each day is a mystery--who we will ride with, where we will eat and sleep, and what we will learn about these exciting new cultures.

Live Big. Give Big. Love Big.: The most powerful messages are sometimes the most simple. This expedition was founded on the values of these basic six words. It represents an intention for balance and courage to simultaneously live our personal passions, make contributions to our global community and love unconditionally. And we try to do them BIG--that is, the very best we can.

Our Vision: We have a vision that through cultural understanding and by our sharing the beautiful truth about how caring, loving and friendly our world really is that we can reduce unnecessary fear to help foster global collaboration and world peace. Read full Peace Pedalers Vision Statement Here.

Be the Change:
"You must BE the change you want to see in the world"
--Mahatma Gandhi

This quotation also represents a core value of our expedition. The changes we want to see are more people going after their real dreams, practicing random acts of kindness, unconditional love, openness, acceptance, trust, sharing, play and a willingness to learn from one another in the world. So that's what Peace Pedalers BE.

It's every individual's responsibility to become a catalyst for positive change and world peace. It all starts with YOU. Whether you are at work, at home with the family, following your passions; each moment is an opportunity to send peaceful and loving intentions & energy to the world, your family and your local and global community. If you would like to start your own Live Big. Give Big. Love Big. project email us and we'll mentor you! It's not has hard as you might think!

In partnership with Panasonic, are documenting the expedition with professional video, audio and photography equipment to bring the cultures, friendships and magic of Peace Pedalers to millions around the world via various television series and films. See vision of production here

Peace Pedalers is NOT a formal 501(c)(3) non-profit but we do appreciate direct donations to help fund various projects to help make the world a better place. The expedition is fully funded by sponsors and personal savings of Jamie so rest assured all donations go to those who need it.

July 1 , 2009 CURRENT LOCATION:
Asunción, Paraguay

It's Game on for Stage 3 from Brazil to USA! My Spanish guest rider from back in Argentina Cristina got hooked on cycling and has joined me all the way through SW Paraguay on a 5-day adventure from Encarnación to Asunción on her own bike! Epic! We've had several colorful passengers on the tandem, caught the Festival de San Juan in San Juan itself (bonus!), and arrived in San Bernardino to meet our next friend Ruben and scored by being invited for a free 2-night stay at the historic Hotel del Lago. We're now hosted with Ruben and filmed some great music, food and fun. Heading into Chaco Desert and into Bolivia this week. I've got the word out up ahead and should have some fun characters to explore this stunning region of Earth. See the fresh journal of Argentina with photos here and also of Uruguay here. See estimated riding schedule. Follow me on twitter, read the blog for the latest quick stories, or check out detailed journals and photos of past adventures. Please, get on the newsletter list too for epic armchair adventures in your inbox every week or two. Over n Out!

07/15/08: Peace Pedalers guest riders Launching a School in Uganda: Warren and Innocent, two guest riders in Uganda, have teamed up to launch the "Good Hope School" which will educate the needy, board orphans and more. They already have buildings done and over 130 students. We're finalizing our materials to raise the funds for completion. For more information check out this link and email us to get involved!

01/12/08: Peace Pedalers Trailer and Rough Cut Videos Done! After dozens of hours in front of the computer we finally finished a 4 minute trailer and two 22-minute rough cuts of Niger and Mali in West Africa. Check them out here!

8/26/07: New "Best of 30 Countries" photo album now up: I sorted through 1,000's to bring you the best of the best! Check it out!

06/18/07 Educating Africa, One Rider at a Time! We have started a small "Peace Pedalers Scholarship Program" and we are sending our first guest rider, Joseph Kamau of Kenya, back to school after his father lost his job and failed to pay school fees. Contact us if you want to help fund this small project and give the gift of education to those in need. We have one other potential student waiting for support

03/27/07 We Saved Two Infants Lives!! I was out riding to Chipata in Eastern Zambia and stopped at a medical clinic where a friend was volunteering. Two babies were burning up with fevers from Malaria the clinic was out of medication. They were given Coartem from my bike pannier and there is no better feeling than saving a life!

02/22/07 Sustainable Revenue to Musicians and Their Communities! I've been working with musicians and recording live performances for them to provide them with a CD to sell at gigs and other channels. They have to give 10% to local charities so it's a triple win. To provide an avenue for artists to sell the recordings online I will soon be launching a small record label. Check some sample tunes here. Stay tuned and email me if you have any feedback or contacts

8/24/06, Les Stroud Joins as Executive Producer for Filming Effort: Survivorman producer and host Les will be guiding the filming of the rest of the expedition to create several seasons of educational television and a documentary film. Info on Les here:
